I'm proud to present this piece based on one of my favorite horror films: The Thing. There's something primal about the fear in the film. It's this beautiful mix of isolation and anxiety as the team and the audience can never truly know which of them is or isn't infected. To me one of the most superb elements of the movies are Rob Bottin's brilliant creature effects, as they leave this incredibly visceral impact on the viewer. It's body horror at it's best, and my piece is a tribute to a scene I swear I remember but doesn't exist, where one of the infected wolves explodes in a tangle of half formed alien tentacles.
